The picturesque town of Kazanlak

Kazanlak is situated in the famous Valley of Roses, in the skirts of the Balkan mountain. The settlement has been inhabited since deep antiquity and was an important centre of the Thracian culture in the past. The Rose Festival in Kazanluk

Annually, in early June, the Rose Festival takes place in Kazanlak. The event has attracted lots of visitors from Bulgaria and abroad for more than one hundred years. The festival is dedicated to the rose, known in Bulgaria as the “Queen of flowers” and a symbol of youth and beauty. Apart from the rich musical programme with folk songs, dances and a beauty contest, the festival includes ritual rose-picking in the fragrant rose fields and rose-distillation afterwards. All visitors are invited to take part in these rituals and to feel the spirit of this unusual corner of Bulgaria. Ski police takes care of the security in Pamporovo resort

The ski resort Pamporovo takes care of the safety and the security of tourists for winter season 2012/2013. The contract for mutual business relations will be signed between the police as an institution and the concessionaire which is responsible for the ski tracks. There will be policemen next to the hut “Studenets” in Pamporovo. If there is a substantial snowfall, all trucks will not be allowed to pass through the resort unless the roads are properly cleaned.
