Apart from the rich musical programme with folk songs, dances and a beauty contest, the festival includes ritual rose-picking in the fragrant rose fields and rose-distillation afterwards. One of the most attractive landmarks in the old capital Veliko Turnovo, preferred holiday spot for cultural tourism, is Samovodskata Charshiya. Even though there are not so many tourists in winter, all visitors are impressed with Bulgarian crafts.
