The picturesque town of Kazanlak

Kazanlak is situated in the famous Valley of Roses, in the skirts of the Balkan mountain. The settlement has been inhabited since deep antiquity and was an important centre of the Thracian culture in the past. The region of Kazanluk is most popular with its long traditions in rose-oil production which have been passed through many generations. A historical monument of international importance is the Thracian tomb of Kazanlak, situated in a mount, not far from the town. The Rose Festival in Kazanluk

Annually, in early June, the Rose Festival takes place in Kazanlak. The event has attracted lots of visitors from Bulgaria and abroad for more than one hundred years. The festival is dedicated to the rose, known in Bulgaria as the “Queen of flowers” and a symbol of youth and beauty. Apart from the rich musical programme with folk songs, dances and a beauty contest, the festival includes ritual rose-picking in the fragrant rose fields and rose-distillation afterwards. All visitors are invited to take part in these rituals and to feel the spirit of this unusual corner of Bulgaria. Pirin hotel

I was very impressed with the food yes it not British but the guess what your not in Britain. I found the staff to be very helpfull. The room was very clean only moan was that i was next to the lift so there was a small amount of noise.
